October Has Arrived.

Something New for October

I love October, I really do. The weather is cooling down and the Holidays are fast approaching. We’ve been busy here at miniature gardens getting ready for all the special events coming up over the next several months. Now I don’t like to rush things so lets talk about Halloween. Skeletons, ghosts and pumpkins oh my!

Shall we start with skeletons? This season skeletons are coming in lots of different colors like pink or lavender. So I am painting a few in different colors to add to planters and as air plant holders. Of course a few are going to be glow in the dark.

Ghost? Not really but how about day of the dead trinket dishes. The first one will be finished this weekend. It is frightfully beautiful.

Does anything say Halloween or October like pumpkins or adorable mushrooms? These are a fun way to update a wreath, center piece or planter. This will be officially available Starting Monday, October the Seventh.

Octobers tip of the month

In October my planters start looking pretty tired and raggedy but I hate to totally replant them. I feel guilty when I toss a still living plant just because its not as pretty as it once was. So I trim back anything that looks burnt or just barely clinging to life. Then I water the planters thoroughly. Now here is where the fun comes in. I spray paint pine cones orange, red and gold wire them to florist picks and push them into the containers. Of course I will be adding glow in the dark skeletons to my planters.
